How To Save And Use Passkeys

When a website asks you to create a passkey, PearPass intercepts the request and lets you save the passkey directly to your vault. The next time you visit that site, PearPass uses the saved passkey to log you in.

Trigger passkey creation on the website

On a website that supports passkeys, sign up or navigate to the passkey creation option. The PearPass extension dialog opens automatically.

Unlock PearPass

Enter your master password in the Unlock PearPass dialog and click Continue.

Select a vault

PearPass shows your available vaults. Select the vault where you want to save the passkey.

Create a new login

The Save Passkey? dialog opens. Click + Create new login.

Review and save

PearPass populates the login details — title, email or username, password, passkey, and website. Review the details and click Save.

The passkey is saved to your vault.


You must be signed in to the PearPass browser extension for your saved passkeys to appear in the login dropdown. If you are not signed in, the passkey list will not show.

Go to the login page

Navigate to the login page of a site where you have a saved passkey. Click the email address field. The PearPass icon appears inside the field. Click the PearPass icon.

Select your passkey

A dropdown appears showing a list of your saved credentials. Click your credential for the current website.

Confirm login

PearPass uses the saved passkey to complete authentication. The website logs you in.

Trigger passkey creation on the website

On a website that supports passkeys, tap Create a passkey or follow the site's passkey setup flow. Your device will present PearPass as one of the options to continue.

Unlock PearPass

The Enter Master Password screen appears. Enter your master password and tap Continue, or tap Use Biometrics to authenticate using your device's biometric method.

Save the passkey

The Save Passkey screen appears. Tap Create new login.

Review and save

PearPass populates the login details — title, email or username, passkey, and website. Review the details and tap Save.

The passkey is saved to your vault. You are returned to the website, now logged in.


Go to the login page

Navigate to the login page of the site where you have a saved passkey.

Select PearPass from the passkey prompt

Your device shows a passkey prompt. Under Other accounts, tap More from PearPass... and follow your device's system prompt.

Select a vault

PearPass shows your available vaults. Tap the vault that contains the saved passkey.

Select your passkey

PearPass shows the saved passkeys in the selected vault. Tap the passkey for the current website.
